Welcome to Lake Effect Winery. My name is Donald
Stolarz. I’m the winemaker and owner – and I’m pleased
to announce that we're opening to the public in the
summer of 2008.

After making wines in my home for about 15 years, I
decided to mix a little business with pleasure. I love the
social and health aspects that flourish from a great
glass of wine, but I also believe that a winery lends
itself to a great family business.

So, after much consideration, I opted to turn my
passion into a reality and share my wines with others. And I couldn’t be happier with
the end result – an up-and-coming winery that produces quality wines from premium
Michigan fruits and berries.
There are thousands of wineries worldwide that make fantastic grape wines and
blends. But, I believe there’s a market for full-bodied wines made from other fruits,
including pear, apple, elderberry and aronia.

                                                                                               located on Michigan’s west
                                                                                               coast in Fruitport Township.
                                                                                               The new winemaking facility
                                                                                               is housed in a former
                                                                                               industrial building
                                                                                              that has undergone a
                                                                                               total renovation. An
                                                                                               expansion will begin sometime
                                                                                               in March to build a bottling
                                                                                               area and tasting room.
